Krug Vintage Champagne Brut 2000

Deep golden in color fairly minimal mousse but some bubbles still there, which were very fine. Nose is extraordinary - like walking inside the most amazing patisserie. Pastries and cakes, cheese Danish, lemon curd, candied roasted nuts, candied orange peel or orange marmalade. Palate still has some acidity but it is certainly medium maybe medium- at this point, but still enough to hold the wine together. Caramelized orange, butterscotch, brioche French toast, candied roasted Marcona almonds and pecans, cinnamon bun/nut roll, toffee, slight spice (cinnamon, clove). Super long finish. 98 points. This wine is extraordinary and only short of a perfect score by the slight lack of acidity and freshness.
