Château Raymond-Lafon Sauternes 2005

Deep golden bordering on amber in color with a bit of clearing at the rim. Nose is grapefruit skin, orange marmalade, clover honey, candied walnuts, nutmeg, old cinnamon stick. Palate is full body, honey, orange marmalade, candied orange peel and pith, anise, cinnamon stick, slight hints of raw walnuts on the finish which is medium to medium plus. Acidity is medium but overall a little flabby. Overall a solid but not exceptional Sauternes. 90 points.
