Ruby and slightly translucent with pinkish clearing at the rim. On the nose, medium minus intensity of aroma with black cherry, black licorice, dried cranberry, stewed fig, pomegranate, slight barnyard and ferrous notes. On the palate, medium acidity and body, medium tannins fairly smooth but slightly chunky, a little hot, not a ton of flavor or concentration - hints of cranberry, pomegranate, black raspberry, black cherry, dried fig, curry powder, light black pepper, slightly metallic saline note. A bit thin and fairly short peppery finish. 86 pts.
