Paul Bara Réserve Brut Champagne Grand Cru 'Bouzy' NV

Medium golden in color with a persistent stream of fine, delicate bubbles. Nose is ripe yellow apple and pear, slight brioche, hints of hazelnut, chalk, and white flowers, underripe yellow and red cherry. Palate is medium body, medium acidity, mousse is persistent in the mouth, bruised yellow apple and pear, yellow and red cherry, hints of red plum skin and tart cranberry, very slight breadyness and mineral undertones. Medium finish. A solid champagne that, for me, just lacks a bit of richness, depth, and complexity. 88 points.
