Deep ruby purple in color consistent to the rim. Nose is medium to medium plus intensity with raspberry jam on toast, black cherry jam, violets, ripe red plum, hints of anise, hints of smoke and black pepper, slight salinity. Palate is luscious, silky tannins, medium grip, medium acidity maybe medium plus, some oak is definitely present but fairly well integrated, black raspberry, black cherry, red plum, hints of cinnamon bark and nutmeg, plum jam and vanilla, buttery notes (diacetyl?), slightly peppery on the finish. Medium plus finish. 91 points.
