Château Lalande Saint-Julien 2016
Deep ruby in color with pinkish clearing at the rim. Nose is medium intensity with black raspberry, ripe black cherry, cassis, smoked eggplant, ripe blackberry, hints of cedar, nutmeg, vanilla, paprika, maybe a bit of violet and new leather. Palate is medium body, medium acidity, medium fairly soft tannins, palate confirms the fruits on the nose but not much of the vegetal qualities, some baking spice, vanilla, & leather. Medium finish. Decanted around 3.5 hours. Lacking a bit of depth, complexity and concentration. Opened up a bit more after 1-2 days in bottle after opening. 89+ points.
