Máté Brunello di Montalcino 2018
Pale ruby in color with some brick hues, slight clearing at the rim. Nose is medium to medium plus intensity, fairly savory with dry herbs: oregano, marjoram, thyme and sun-dried tomato, followed by red fruits: cherry jam, raspberry jam. Perhaps a tiny bit of VA. Palate is medium plus to high acidity, grippy and medium fine tannins, red fruits, red currants, cranberry, pomegranate, orange peel. Medium plus finish. 90+ points but could use a few years to mellow.
