Samuel Billaud Chablis 1er Cru 'Montee de Tonnerre' 2022
Pale yellow in color. Nose is medium intensity with oyster shell, lemon blossom, green apple candy, not giving much else. Palate is medium to medium plus acidity, medium body, pretty subdued with salinity, slightly chalky, green apple, lemon peel, some subtle oak influence. Finish a bit short. Somewhat disappointing given lack of complexity and not in favor of oak treatment on Chablis. Otherwise well made and balanced albeit short. 88 points.
