Château Haut-Batailley Pauillac 2023

Medium ruby in color consistent to the rim. Nose is medium intensity with olive tapenade, savory herbs, cherry, plum, fennel. Palate is juicy, cherry, plum, cassis, mineral, medium body, medium plus tannin and grippy, anise, slightly herbal. Slightly earthy and bitter finish. Medium plus finish. Definitely needs a bit of time to integrate. 89 points with maybe potential for a bit more in 8-10 or so years. Much more earthy and herbal than the 2019.
