Jacques Selosse Initial Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Grand Cru 'Avize' NV

Medium gold bordering on amber in color with super fine bubbles. Nose is slightly wild maybe almost barnyard with honey, smoke, roasted almonds, cinnamon bun/cinnamon nut roll, French toast, candied orange peel, some chalk, hazelnut. Palate is medium acidity but still fairly fresh, medium body, smooth but not super active mousse, caramelized orange peel, toasted hazelnut and almond, pear and lemon peel, cinnamon stick, butterscotch. Beautiful layers and complexity. Medium plus finish. 95 points.
